About Pennie
Having been born and raised in Kansas, specifically in the Concordia area, I have a deep-rooted connection to our state. My husband, Rick, and I met, married, and raised our family here. We have four sons, four beautiful daughters-in-law, and seven grandsons! We recently celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary.
We moved to Topeka in 1998 and spent over 20 years in real estate, buying, selling, and flipping homes in the area. In June 2009, we founded God’s Storehouse.
As directors, over the past 15 years, we’ve witnessed the store's remarkable growth—from just a handful of volunteers to a dedicated staff of over 80 employees. The store's success is a testament to the unwavering commitment and hard work of the lead staff and employees who faithfully labor to bring the vision to life each day. But we wouldn’t be where we are without the support and generosity of our great community!
We have dedicated a significant portion of our lives to public service. With careful consideration, I've come to a profound realization: Life is no longer solely about my individual dreams, visions, and aspirations. It's about our children, our grandchildren, and the generations of Kansans yet to come, whose paths I hope to impact as the next elected member of the Kansas House of Representatives in District 56.

Statement on Life
The people of Kansas spoke this past summer and made their position clear and that should be respected. I am one of many pro-life Kansans who have never advocated for a complete ban on abortion. I support exceptions to accommodate heartbreaking and difficult situations such as rape, incest, the life of the mother, and abnormalities that make life outside of the womb impossible. As a legislator, I will continue to support and work to defend the common sense laws in place today and find consensus.
Issues Important to You
Better Schools
Quality education is a vital issue. I support strong public schools and adequate funding of special education programs.
Better Roads
I will prioritize infrastructure projects, such as road and bridge maintenance, and improvements in public transportation.
Fiscal Responsibility
You need to be able to support your family. I will advocate for reasonable ulitity rates, lower property taxes, and smart tax policy.
Family Values
Families are the bedrock of our community, the cornerstone upon which we build our shared future. For me, family is not just a word, but a set of guiding principles that shape my approach to public service.
I believe that by cherishing and supporting families, we can create a more vibrant and resilient community.
